It is not always easy to find a particular raw material on the world market which complies with our quality standards. In order to close these sourcing gaps we look out for partners who can do organic or bio-dynamic cultivation of the plant we need and who might also have the capacity for further processing.

In these cultivation projects we work directly with the producer who would preferably be a smaller-scale farm or cooperative. Typically, our projects are based in a developing or transition country. To make sure the organic cultivation is successful and our quality requirements can be met, Weleda offers training sessions and in some cases also financial assistance to our partners. Fair and long-term trading relationships secure the livelihood of the producers and promote the social development in the area.
