Vitis vinifera, the European Grapevine, is widely spread and cultivated across all of the warm and temperate areas of the world. It is an ancient, cultivated plant depicted in early Egyptian monuments. This plant’s wild form can still be found throughout the warmer areas of Europe in forests bordering large rivers, as well as in Southwest Asia. The grapevine grows best in dry, lean soil and under full sun.
Flavonoids are among the active ingredients in Grape Leaves. These secondary metabolites have both anti-inflammatory and astringent properties, and they improve the blood circulation. Grape Leaves are traditionally used to improve vein or cardio-vascular conditions. They are also used as a diuretic for problems associated with the liver and pancreas.
Currently we are setting up new projects in Peru at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level, as well as in Portugal and Austria. Grape leaves and Strawberry leaves are core ingredients for one of our medical products, which can be used as stimulation for liver activity or as a base therapy for any liver condition. 5–6 tons of fresh leaves result in 1 ton of dried leaves.
